Strange shadow at the top of the image

Im rendering an image with a hdri and getting a shadow on the top of the image… horizontally right across the frame… as it there is a card blocking the light… if I change the lens angle from 35mm to 50mm the shadow is in the same place, so it doesnt seem to be an obje

ct casting the shadow… im stumped.

Is there anything in the compositor that could explain this?

Or could it be in the material? Does this happen if you change the material on those objects?

I think it’s a rendering error?
Test it with CPU rendering

No idea. It’s been a while since I’ve used blender. Took a year break after a few years of complete immersion, so it was a vanilla instal to render out a simple animation. But from the comments, I might try the cpu render. Cheers
