In the 3d window it’s fine but when I render I get these very visible artifacts. It’s made of all quads so I have no idea what’s happening. I’ve made sure the normals are right and I’ve cleaned the mesh of all errant edges and verts. It goes away when I use set smooth but if I didn’t have to do that I’d be happier.
It looks like you have overlapping faces or non-manifold faces try grabbing the vertices in the area and pulling them away to check if there’s anything underneath. Select all -> Remove double may also do the trick.
