Stuck in Object Mode

I’m stuck in Object Mode (2.42a) - I’ve deselected all including light and camera, however, the pink dot is centered in the light and I can’t move it. Tried pressing [F9] but this doesn’t seem to have any effect (thought I may beable to select ‘centre new’ and move it).

Help please :confused:

Lights don’t have an Edit mode; all their editable features are in F5 Buttons window. If it another object select it first with RMB (RightMouseButton). If you can’t then you must be in Edit mode on another object (mouse cursor is a cross, not a pointer).
