The result of a couple of hours and a cg cookie subscription, this is my result of the course; create a cute elephant character. Yes I see the repeating wood texture, I still consider it finished.

But why the scene is so dark?
I would add a bump map to the floor and the wall. Then, I would add some baseboards to the corner of the wall and the floor so it doesn’t look so perfect. You could do that pretty easy by doing something like this:
Make an outline, then extrude the faces (shortcut = E) until you get the desired length.
