My background’s involved mostly using analogue art mediums - illustration, drawing, finger painting etc. I used to think that getting into 3D would detach me from those mediums, but in turn it’s actually allowed me to push the boundaries of my work. I’m not striving for realism, but rather what kind of interesting visual styles can come from 3D? I illustrated the fish, then repurposed it’s textures to create a 3D version out of it. This style has enabled me to create some cool things with Augmented Reality.

Here is an animated version of it. The drawn textures were scanned, spliced and then refitted out of a 3d modeled version of the fish. I then created a simple unlit shader with a subtle amount of AO.
