Subdivision duplication

I am trying to partially subdivide and reshape the polys in a circle(see picture)
Is there a way of doing the reshaping of one poly and duplicating it for the rest as to do each one individually seem labourious and prone to inacurracies.
Anyone got any ideas???

Don’t know if I got your question right but here goes :

Step 1 :

  • add mesh - circle 16 vertices
  • extrude size (inside) to give faces
  • modify by subdividing and grabbing 1 face part (to your design like in your image)

Step 2 :

  • Select all other vertices (except ones of the face that you modified) and erase

Step 3 :

360 degr. divide by 16 = 22.5 degr (type in this value in the Mesh Tool Degr box)
Make sure that Step = 1
Press Spin Dup 15 times

Step 4 : Remove doubles

And you get your circle modified.

Hope that helps.

Thats exactly what I am trying to do, will try that now, thnx Danifou:D

Step 3 :

360 degr. divide by 16 = 22.5 degr (type in this value in the Mesh Tool Degr box)
Make sure that Step = 1
Press Spin Dup 15 times
or you could put it at 360 and 16 steps and hit spin dup once…
you also need to select all verts first then remove doubles

Wow, even quicker:D Thnx Paprhm

Lovely job thnxs for the input

You could have always used the array modifier.

How do u use the ‘array modifier’ function?
