I just have a question about the new subdiv modifier.
Why does it go back to the standard subdiv modifier if it’s not and the bottom of the stack? For example, if I have any other modifiers above the new subdiv modifier, everything is fine. If move the new subdiv up, even 1 position, it goes back to the standard subdiv modifier.
It’s because the micro subdivision isn’t actually done by the modifier. It’s done by Cycles itself as it loads the mesh. This is much faster and more memory efficient for heavy meshes, at the expense of not being able to run additional modifiers after subdivision.
