Subsurf complications: A query upon fixiation of pixelation

well, I’ve gotten as far as getting the basic modeling tools down to creating a simple human shape, I tried turning on subsurf, adjusting the levels to level 2 and the rendering level to level 3, even readjusting the outside norms to achieve the smooth shading but you can still see the creases from the vertice
s prescene as well as the edge lines, so I’m in a little rut as how to fix up this little subsurfing problem to get a smooth look to the whole model, if I can I’ll try posting a pic of what I’m talking about to clarify all this

select all vertices and press the “set smooth” button under the “Link and Materials” tab
