I just have a question, it may be valid, it may not be. I was looking at some great models and I had noticed that one of the authors of one stated that he had a few “tri-angular” faces to “fix up”. I am very new to sub-surf modeling and am trying to make a body as well as I can, it’s my first model in Blender3D (see link below).

If you can see on the back of the model, there is some geometry that is very stretched (like rubber), and I was wondering if the problem could be attributed to the fact that when I was adding more subdivisions, I wasn’t doing it in a way that would create 4-point faces (I have some triangles in there), and since then I’ve been having the hardest time getting rid of those stupid stretch areas, I made the model in a couple hours, and spent a couple hours trying to get rid of them.
This may make sense, it may not. I realize that the model is made up of 3-sided polys, but the faces are square (if I’m not mistaken, right?.. maybe not, I’m so confused…) :-?
Anyay, any help on this would be so great.
I was also wondering if anyone could provide a subsurf tutorial for a body/face or whatever, and any info on the benefits of sub-surf vs. NURBS. I don’t know much about modeling, just trial and error really…
Thanks so much in advance.
