Subsurf to mesh

When I use a subsurface modifier, Blender creates a complex mesh from my original geometry. I’d like to be able to make that subsurface geometry ‘real’. That is, tell Blender to forget about my simple cube, or whatever, and let me have access to the generated complex mesh, such that I can edit it directly.

Is there any way to do that?

Just click “Apply” on the subidvision surface modifier to apply the change made by it to your model
