SubSurface button gone...? I can't find it. Am I missing something?

In previous versions I the sub surface button was always there under the auto smooth feature.
I don’t know where it went, or even if it’s just because of a new version.
I really don’t know what happened at all, but this seems like a pretty important button to be gone, and it’s not the only one, as you can see.

Am I just missing something really obvious, or is there a problem with Blender or what?

I re-downloaded and reinstalled Blender and still got the same problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

1 - As a general tips, I recommend you to use the search function to see if similiar questions have already been asked before. In this case, you would have found about a thousand. :smiley:

2 - Subsurf is now a modifier. Look in the modifier panel, Add Modifiers -> Subsurf.
