I’m just curious what the best way to upgrade blender is. Should I install into my current directory, writing over the old stuff, or should I install into a different directory and move everything over, or is there still other options?

I usually just intall in same place and never had a problem but you know with every build that you get from anywhere but blender.org could be different but I put my icons folder and my plugins in the same location and so every upgrade I dont have to move them over
Yes, for all the normal installations (not the testing versions of Blender) I just install into the default Program Files\Blender. I then also have another directory in which I have all my testing builds installed.
