Hello everyone, this is my first post on this forum. Constructive critism most welcome:).

I would like the living to be as photo realstic as possible. something like this http://www.yafray.org/sec/8/common/show_img.php?file=102_YaroslavLebidko.jpg
http://www.yafray.org/sec/8/common/show_img.php?file=79_grzybu.jpg

I am using yafray.

What i want figure out

  1. how does one brighted the scene up
  2. the wood texture on the floor is dull and also the texture on the couch
  3. if you look at the link http://www.yafray.org/sec/8/common/show_img.php?file=79_grzybu.jpg you can see the outside how does one do that without blocking the light source
  4. the entertainment center looks flat. how can I impove that with the light source
  5. what happen to my couch texture

I know this far from beening done.
Thnx in advance

 Hey good start.

  1. Turn Gamma up to 2.2 if it is not set to that already.
Turn up GI Power. Turn up Emit power.

  2. Fixing the lighting should help with that.
You may have to change some of the material settings.

3.Good question.
PM or e-mailing the artist and ask how it was done.

  1. With better lighting.

  2. How would we be able to answer that question unless
we have the .blend file or atleast some useful information.

I think it looks realistic how it is. Just add some lights on the inside (add a few lamps) and see what it looks like.

  1. If you turn up Gamma to 2.2, you’ll need to change the textures to .45 gamma, which you’ll need to do in an external program, like Gimp.
You can also just turn up exposure in the Yafray tab to 5. That works pretty good, but you’ll need to change the brightness of some textures if you want. To change the brightness, after you load a texture, under texture buttons(f6), there is a “Colors,” tab, you’ll see “Bright” and “Contr” sliders.

2.I don’t know what you want, but you might turn the Ref up or down, try a low setting first, like .1, and then try .4, and then 1, and see what happens. Or try turning the textyure brightness up or down, or the contrast up.

3.If you are using a Raytraced shadows, select the Skybox, or whatever, and then go to material buttons and then push the “Tracable” button off to make it non-tracable by Raytraced shadows. If you are using Shadow Buffers, then push “Shadbuf” until it is off, and and there you go.

4.Sorry, I don’t know what something being flat means.

5.I can’t see the couch texture.

If you turn up Gamma to 2.2, you’ll need to change the textures to .45 gamma

Care to explain?

Just a few actual scene changes
1.maybe the couch would look beter white
2. add some cds next to the tv
3. add a cd case to the floor to make the room look more lived in
4. add a lamp to the wall
if you really wanted to go for it make a bird sitting on the table or some other animal

How about a cat sitting on the couch or better yet a cheetah!

Hey!

to 1) Perhaps you shoult turn up the number of light bounces (just an idea)

Nice Start!

Yeah, sure, in here.

Remember, linear workflow(above) is just another type of workflow. Non-linear workflow consist of just adding more light, sometimes by just putting a Lamp and then putting the Energy to .05 or below and then putting the Dist up to something high enoughto reach every corner.

Another idea have you used radiosity if yes try turning the emit up.
