Sun Light off after placing emitting sphere around object

Hello dear Blender People!

I am currently trying to light a spitfire with a simple emitting sphere around it using the cycles render plus having a sun light set up. Before i placed the sphere I already had a sun light setup. After I placed the sphere i immediately got nice soft reflections on the spit from the environment but for some reason the sun is off now although i havent changed any settings or blocking the light with the sphere as it is inbetween the two.

Any ideas what I have (obviously) forgot to do?

Thanks!

Do you mean the Spitfire and camera is inside the sphere (and we see the gold_skyline mapped to the inside)?

If so, then the sphere IS blocking the sun - the ‘sun’ lamp object is just a guide to show the direction of the sun’s parallel rays from an infinite distance away.

Instead, delete the sphere and apply the background image to the world:

Or make the sphere visible only to camera and glossy rays.

If its cycles , you can turn off shadows for the sphere and the sun will shine through.

I actually found it out myself by turning off the shadow for the sphere as Rich33584 described as well. But thanks everyone! I think this will also help other beginners in Blender!
