Sunburst color

Hallo
I am trying to model (almost finished) a Fender Stratocaster in Sunburst. I can not find a texture that is satisfying so I have to make it myself. Its suposed to look like this.

does anybody have an Idea hot to get this done?

Hope I can get some usefull tricks from you. Thank you very much!!!

Are you baking textures, or do you want to do this procedurally?

I actually don’t mind. I also thought about painting it in Krita then use this as a texture but I don’t know how to do that.
PBR was my first idea but I don’t know how to get this result done.
At the end of the day I don’t care how it is done I just want it to be sunburst and not just one page regular colour.
Thank you du far.

You could apply both a wood material and a glossy black material to the object using a mix node to combine them - then manually paint the edges of the object using texture paint.

You’d then use the painted texture as a mask plugged into the mix factor to fade from the wood material to the glossy black material.

This is the mask I painted

Another variation would be that you could mix the black color and the wood image in a color mix node with the mask as fac then into the principled shader base color.

Yep - I hate the principled node though
