Sun's Smile (Remake)

Hey everyone.

2021 I posted this piece here: Sun's smile
And I realized how much Blender’s community is awesome.

I got a lot of great feedback, but I put it off until I felt I could really improve the art, and I think that day has come.

For the hair details I used the great @Danny_Mac Hair Wrangler Pro for the curves that I had before, and the default “new” hair particles with geometry nodes for the hair base.

I updated all the materials and textures (and a little of the face details) so that it would make more sense with this realistic hair. And I really liked the result, I hope you guys like it too.

But make yourself home to give me your feedback about anything, and tell me if you liked the update version more or not.

I don’t know if I would have continued with 3D and made a career out of it (I was even able to buy an apartment today because of Blender), if I hadn’t received feedback from the community, the good feedbacks and the “not so good”, they all helped.

Thank you, guys. (and f*ck AI)

While I already liked the first version, your improvements are absolutely brilliant, and leveled up the end result to a further level.
Amazon job, you deserve having made a career out of 3D!

This looks really great! A lot of improvement has been done!

As for feedback, I’d suggest looking into the below details.

The hard crease under the nose might be a bit much, and the texture underneath on the upper lip looks a little flat, like some detail is missing.

The teeth look a little unnatural; they almost look like they just have a white principled and called it a day. Maybe too high roughness?

And the throat sort of looks like it’s bulging out a little, possibly due to the light. Giving her a sort of frog like look.

But super great work still!

Looks amazing! Reminds of Sam Does Art style (I mean it as a compliment, looks really great!).

Years has gone by and the little girls has grown quite a bit. I love the more cartoonish first version too, maybe it seems even more “sunny” to me. The posture and facial expression are spot on.
And you have a perfect timing with this post - showing t just as the sun finally is making it’s way back into our lifes.
Very nice in all aspects!

That’s absolutely amazing! The lighting and everything is so natural, really inspires me to create portraits like this!

I thought these were details of why it looked so realistic actually. The bulge on the neck could actually be increased and then creased around the throat (I forgot the body part word), but some people don’t have a noticeable crease so it might be fine.
