Super black material

I read this article this morning and one of my first thoughts was “how do you create a material like that in Blender/Cycles?”

Like staring into a black hole

Holdout node in Cycles is even better than this - no photons escape.

And a pure diffuse shader with a 100 % black diffuse color would also act like this…

If you want something really really black - try putting a negative value into an emission node - it’s so black, it actually emits darkness :smiley:
