survey for university (exciting, mind blowing and all that)

i am doing a University assignment (hence the request for fridge images)

and i am wondering about how people use fridges.

  1. what do you mainly put in your fridge?
i.e. drinks, veges, milk/dairy, meat… equal portions of all

i would kinda like to know roughly what percentages of each you think you keep in your fridge. fairly simple question

1a) if you have multiple fridges/ freezers, it would be cool to know what you use each for.

thanks heaps to anyone who answers

Alltaken

I’m also a university student, so my answer may not be typical.

Usually my fridge is 35% drinks, 35% pasta ready meals, 15% meat, and 15% pizza.

50% Yoghurt

50% Milk.

Student, so once again, not representative.

Alex

Kinda odd assignments you get at university. Is this part of your design course?

Anyway, I have a mini fridge in my room so I don’t have to walk down two flights of stairs to get a drink. That has 100% juice.

I have a fridge/freezer unit in the kitchen where there is 20% juice, 15% vegetables, 20% spreads/sauces, 5% yoghurt, 10% meat, 30% frozen foods.

I also have a larger fridge/freezer unit in the basement for when we run out of room in the upstairs fridge/freezer. Usually it gets used to store stuff we get a lot of. Like we buy about 5 loaves of bread, 5 bottles of each kind of juice etc.

Ok, on my frigde at home (parent’s home…) there is:
Drinks (bottle of water, orange juice, and milk) (10% ?)
Various sauces, mustard (5% ?)
Cheeses (10 % ?)
Meat (15% ?)
No “fresh” vegetables (we keep them outside of the frigde)
Empty : 60% :stuck_out_tongue:

And for the freezer:
60% of vegetables, 10% for pizzas, and 30% for fish

(and when I was away for studies I had a mini fridge with something like 1bottle of milk, 1 bottle of grenadine syrup, some yoghurts, and sometimes one or 2 slices of ham…)

  1. you name it it’s in there, as the saying goes our fridge is always “full to the nuts”

perhaps 30% vegies / 20 % meats / the rest milk and stuff in bottles + stuff that should have been thrown out last week

10 % leftovers which usually don’t get eaten

we have a 2nd freezer for bulk / long term storage

cheers

Ooo, and I just got a new fridge; kind with the freezer on the bottom. So my old fridge is plugged in on my porch. I feel like a celebrity.

We’ve got two fridge/freezers. One in the garage and one in the kitchen.

We put bottled water, bottled juice drinks, two or 3 spare milks (1 gallon, we drink a lot of milk around here), a spare thing of eggs and some fruit/veggies in the garage. And the occasional meats.

For the kitchen we’ve got cheese products, fruit/veggies, meats (lunch and raw burger/steak/pork), one milk (we keep the rest in the garage fridge), one egg carton (again, one in the fridge). Random items for the fridge etc. One or two waters (bottled), orange juice (from concentrate).

got a fridge in my apartment, just me

in the freezer i got:
oatmeal cookies 50%
chicken 50%

in the refrigerator i got:
rice pudding 10%
eggs 10%
bottled water 20%
broccoli 10%
white bread 15%
chedder cheese 10%
mayo 5%
bannanas (they last longer when kept in fridge) 20%

but i have tons of space open in the fridge, so dont know if this helps

My refridgerator:

40 % jams such as blackcurrant, orange-jam, apple-marmalade, blueberry-jam, fig-jam and many more.
30 % fish - such as sardins (brisling) & macrel in tomatoe.
20 % Juice - such as Orange and Applejuice.
10 % Potatoes & tomatoes

My Freezer:

60 % vegetables such as: Broccoli, sweetcorn, peas, carrots, cabbageheads, haricot-verts, mushrooms, bamboo, various-root-vegetables. and MUCH more I can’t
even remember.
30 % fish - such as Alaskan polloc (100-150 g pieces in 800 g bags) and fish-sticks.
20 % Chicken nuggets (hardly eat these…I prefer fish).

I don’t use butter at all. I have replaced them all with Oils, such as Olive-oil for the pan
and Soy-sauce (kikkoman) for the taste of things.

Use a lot of spices to spice up the food.
And I have more tea than our local grocery store
