Must be Publisher.

nice monkey.

on the subject; who made the monkey? It’s surreal…

I think WP did it.

Martin

nice lighting and model emotion =D

thats an awesome monkey mesh model… it looks exactly like the monkey from the power puff girls, no not mojo jojo, the super hero monkey that was a side show on the pp girls =D
“monkey, we need your help, save us!”

Well, i’ll be a monkie’s…

Matt

Blend on, and blend well!!!

Did you use only Blender Publisher to achieve THIS chrome effect? That is very nice… Maybe you used a raytracer also, right?

@ marcanth: no raytracing at all on my image. Just a high contrast image texture applied with the ADD buton pressed instead of MIX and also have REFL pressed instead of ORCO.

Faked GI lighting with a light dome and that is all. 100% Blender.

Hi BgDM,

Thanks for the reply! Well, just two doubts… You are saying you put a high contrast texture in your monkey. Ok, but did you use also an envmap? What to you mean a “light dome”? Do you mean you used (besides the texture) also a dome to put a texture and make the monkey reflect it? Like Global Illumination with dupliverts? Something like that?

Well, thanks for the reply! Blender is very fascinating and each day I learn something new… And never want to stop learning!!

Andre

well you wont stop learning… i don’t know that there is a way to know how to do everything that blender has to offer

marcanth: no envmap at all in that image. For the Light Dome, I used an Icosphere, set to 3 segments. Parent a spot light to it, cause spots are the only lights capable of casting shodows in blender, and dupliverted the spots.

I can write a small tute for you guys on that, if you are interested. I am also planning on doing a lighting seminar in #blenderskool shortly. So stay tuned on that. Also, if you go to the Q&A forum, look for a tute by S68 on Lighting. He explains the light dome very well in his tutorial.

I would also be happy to share my techniques on making chrome as well, if you are interested? Let me know and I can easily do a short tute on that.
