Here is the start of the Swoop Bike from Star Wars-AOTC that Anakin rode on to get to the Sandpeople and kick their butts to rescue his mom.
I am having trouble finding reference images on the web for this thing to get colour schemes, etc. on it. If anyone has any links, please share with me!
Hopefully some more by the end of today. Let me know whatyou think.
theeth: yeah I did look there. First place I went. Only one image, and it ain’t this exact one. Go figure. I got a couple of images from a Google search, but nothing of great detail or size.
oh no fair! i was seriosuly in the middle of making this exact model with that exact blueprint! ::deletes blender file:: hehe… no ill still finish it, then we’ll race them =D
it looks great bgdm! looking perfecto
wow extruding that shpe must have taken ages lol i got an idea why dont u!!!.. when u and grandpa have done ur bikes, have a SMC whoever wins you animate them in a race and whoever wins the SMC thier bike wins lol jk…
Your on! We can make a big track and fly them around the desert and blow one of them up! :o
We will have to see if we come up with similar colour schemes as well.

Actuaslly it doesn’t take that long at all. You just get the basic shape and ‘POOF’, hit the sub-surf button and it looks great! Just have to tweek some verts to get the fit right is all.
Not much done, but I thought I would show it anyway. Filled in the ferring, added the seat (which looks like a bunch of turds sitting there :o - will need to fix that), and started the frame.
I am going to save the engine for last, as there is a lot of detail in there.
Looks brilliant very realistic! Can anyone tell me what the checkerboard look on the render is; I get it on some of my models and the only way i can find to get rid of it is to increse the subsurf level, which slows the render process down?
:-?

As far as I know, it is a bug in Blender, (someone correct me if I am wrong). It only appears when you use sub-d’s. It is even there after you texture, depending on the texturing that you use. You can get rid of it by converting the sub-d mesh to a standard mesh, but then you get a lot more poly’s, obviously.
you’ve mastered a lighting technique that captures the softness of natural light yet retains exceelent image sharpness.
Thanks dickie. But it is nothing special. Beleive me. I just use multiple spots with high samples and a very low Bias, (0.010 Bias). This image only has 3 spot lamps in it.
DreamMaster: Begins with a “B”? Hmmmmmm… Well, I have an idea, but I can’t post it here
I have no clue. I will think on ot tonight. Can’t wait to see the surprise.
