Symmetry in Sculpting. Having some issues

So I started with a cube for a shape i was working on, planning to model it, but i needed to begin with a diamond shape, and rotated it on the x axis 45 degrees. once rotated, i was sculpting as usual, and the symmetry function kept functioning based off of the shape’s original orientation.

does anyone know how to reset a shape’s axis so that symmetry is permitted outside of multiples of 90?

To clear the objects axis rotation use Ctrl+A in object mode.
