Syncronising sound with video

In the past the audio strips you put into the video editor showed green wave lines on them. This would help line up sound with the video. Am I right in thinking you can’t get that wave line showing now in the empty green boxes in 2.5:o?

Select the sound clip, show the properties panel (N) and under the Sound setting select the Caching tickbox
