Wow, nice modelling. What are the polycounts and texture resolutions for each of those creatures?

Actually, they are significantly lower than the previous models I’ve shown. They are between 6,000-9,000; whereas the models I’ve shown before were 11,000-13,000.

I always start the texture resolution to be 2048x2048 pngs, but I will reduce them to 512x512 jpgs later. Maybe the HD version will have 1024x1024 jpgs.

OK! Good enaugh. And is it 1 texture per-dinosaur?

At least 4 texture each, Normal Map, AO map, Full render(Not color) Map, and Difuse map.
The “Full render” map is what makes the colors stand out so much, that and turning “Color Management” off in the render panel

(Thanks to ThaTimst3r’s New Post-Processing Addon I have a better Night-vision view)

Looking great! How much time it takes to make all animations of one of them?

Thanks Orlin! It takes about a week, but I constantly add animations as I go.

This is looking mighty fine. Are you thinking of porting this to UPBGE? You might have more functionality (I think they want to use other OpenGL versions or even possibly Vulkan).

I have not tried UpBGE yet. How is the functionality? Is it strong and smooth. What does it support or lack support for. I’m all for increasing the scope of Blender Game Engine.

Hello @adrian120396,

How is the functionality?

It looks and it is used like a regular blender. All your game file will be opened with UPBGE without loosing settings.
The difference with BF BGE is for some rare cases which are documented: http://doc.upbge.fr/issues.php

Is it strong and smooth. What does it support or lack support for.

All the features added, removed and all the bugs fixed are listed by versions in: http://doc.upbge.fr/releases.php
Feel free to test it, you can download the 0.0.9 release at http://download.upbge.fr/download/release/. Or compile the current version 0.1.0 (not finished yet) from source at https://github.com/UPBGE/blender/.

That looks good.

It looks really great!
When making the dinosaurs did you use any particular references?

I wanna make some dinosaurs, especially feathered ones. I don’t know the best place to find good pictures though.

Thanks

Thanks, I have been meaning to do more videos on this on my BlenderSaurus Rex YouTube channel and Facebook page.
I will probably start a Patreon for my followers to support this effort. It is hard to keep up with all of this stuff right now, and supporters on Patreon would really help me out.

you sir have some skills there! wiish* i could model that way, good looking poly eficient for the ge type of modeling, i alway run low on poly and looks like crap when textured or run to high in poly count (20 k per character jajaja).

Congrats men! It looks really cool, hope to se a beta version or demo to try it out.
