Not sure if this is possible with the Video textrue pluggin but I would like to take a picture of someone with a webcam, say when a key is pressed, and then have that texture mapped to a plane so their photograph is on the screen in front of them.
that should be possible with the video texture plug in, as you said.
Just a guess, but it would probably look like the web cam demo, except you would only update it when your capture key is pressed.
