This little guy was just too cute too keep all to myself
I have him walking around a small map shooting at a target,
Here is the file:
He is pretty quick on the draw

It sure is nice to be able to test out my animations like this, I am really enjoying developing with blender+the blender GE.
A few more animations and I can call this little guy done.
Hope you all like it , I have had fun watching him today.
I updated the file yesterday after you posted, try downloading the new one.
Thanks for pointing that out yesterday I forgot to disable the collision on all the faces of my robot.
I must have closed blender without saving or I uploaded the wrong file at first.
I am working on the little guy right now, giving him some new attack moves to make him more interesting to shoot at
Great sounds like someone has broken the game engine even worse than it is now.
guess I better go and test 2.45 {aka, “The bug fix release”}
Man this is getting very depressing for me I was hoping that some of the game engine would be fixed for the next release.
I better stop fooling myself and just revert back to blender 2.42a if I wish to use bullet physics.
Might be time for me to just switch over to a working game engine like Irrlicht or Crystal Space I dont have much more time to just waste like this.
well here I go, Going to download 2.45 rc, and snort about 50 of my wifes anti-depressants.
the gun now bounces at 2 speeds, one for walk, and another for walk-fast.
The gun animation adds a new level of drama to the firing too!
Almost looks like he is using the gun to help counter balance his steps.
Thanks Krado
I also fixed so he dose not go into a “dead spin” as often. just a simple pulse for the node collision. I also offset the random node, so it will be very unlikely that he will hit a node, and the random number be generated at the exact same time.
I have a ladder climb animation now too, just have to add the logic… After lunch time
very nice demo… all you need now is a realtime shadow with the oger port… ;-)… very impressive with only logic bricks… would be very sweet if you wrote a tut for this one.
Ogre is a bit too rich for my blood, for real time shadows I use Crystalspace and Irrlicht.
I love the BGE logic bricks.
Blender is the only game engine that TRULY allows people to create games without programing.
Over the years I have been suckered into a few commercial game engines that claimed “no programming experience required”
just a bunch of liars…
BGE is going to make teaching simple game development very easy for me
the next bot I make I think I will document, to help people to understand what I am aiming for , and what the bot is doing.
