Some simple weekend project. Still in wip because I want to make better coffee in the coffee pot. “make”…hehe.
Coffee itself have some volumetrics and the render is quite detailed so make sure to click it to the full size.

UPDATE:
The render looks very cool and professional, and the modeling is very good aswell, very nice details.
True, the coffee material needs a bit more work, it looks kinda like oil xD
Nice work
Cheers!
Makes me want to go make a cup right now
At first I wasn’t sure if this was a model you dreamed up or an actual product. The textures are looking good. Maybe you can show your node set up on the coffee once you finalize it. Have you had a look at the adaptive samples website?.. they have a good tutorial on liquid.
Thanks! Oil? Haha, very true. It really needs some work. Although my coffee sometimes tastes and looks like oil. ![]()

haha. Yeah it’s real product. Very popular in here Finland.
Yeah I’ll post the final node setup when I’m finished. Should be something simple…
And thanks for the link!
Wow, very nice! I agree the coffee could use work. I made a simple coffee shader a while back:
In order to have the right type of color show up, make sure everything is modeled to scale.
Hope it helps!
Thanks for the material! Actually the coffee material I’m using is very similar to this. Just tweaked it a bit less flat black.
Different background and lighting. Simple kitchen scene. Maybe I add something more on the back.
Not sure what others may think, but in this latest render, the coffee looks a little too weak, either there is too much transparancy or maybe a slight darkening of the colors may help. With liquids, it almost seems like you need to lock the scene and lighting down, and adjust the liquids based on that.
I didn’t notice until looking at the larger view, but nice touch on the coffee cup stains.
Yeah, it’s definitely a bit too light in color.
Here’s new render. Studied coffee pot and tried to mimic the steam and water droplets inside the coffee pot.
The coffee pot looks way better! Nice job.
Yea, I think the coffee looks much better Icon, and the water droplets and steam add a real nice touch.
Thanks!
I tried to think something on the background and thought that basil is great (I mean overall. It’s great herb and looks nice) and maybe it could bring a bit life to the scene. So I modeled some Basil plant. Nothing too detailed.
New render. Added some dust and finger prints/smudges post in Photoshop.
It’s still a bit empty. Have to think something. Maybe some kitchen cupboards on the wall…
Ideas are welcome!
Something new. Kitchen is modeled with help of Blender Guru’s kitchen tutorial. Also some of the assets are from that tutorial. Thinking of replacing them with my own.
render 13 looks fantastic. Render 14 looks fantastic too, but in a different way. I think if you experiment with some different camera views with #14 you will make an even better render. I love every coffee related render lol
The Mocca master looks great in a real kitchen.
Thanks guys!
