If by “rock” you mean the outside world… then Yes.
I dont see the problem with movies being based off of games, though it seams that a lot of film producers are just relying on the sucess of the original game and make a few bucks rather than make a decent story /movie. Thats including these films based off of cartoons too, like spiderman, fantastic 4… hulk…
