Terminator - Hum3D Car Render challenge 2016

Hey guys! Just finished my model for Hum3D Car Render Challenge 2016.

This machine was inspired in a Ford 83 Pick-Up

Blender for modelling and Uv’s, Substance Painter for textures and Octane for the render!

Hey guys, how can I change the thumbnail imagem?

Hi. Looks really good! I like everything but mainly lighting and the position of the camera.

Just out of curiosity, what’s the reason you have not used Cycles? Do you find many shortcomings in Cycles, or are you just used to Octane?

Hello Yafu! There’s some reasons why i didn’t use Cycles in this project:

1- My textures + Geometry wouldn’t fit in my GPU memory;
2- Cycles in CPU render mode is very slow.
3- I think octane has better materials, the way it scatters light through them looks a lot better to me.
4- Octane is fast as hell, I rendered this 4k image in only 1 hour. Cycles even in GPU render mode would take me at least 6 or 8 yours with the same rig.

That’s my reasons, but I love Cycles and I use it quite often.
