Testing 3ivx out.

My eyes must be deceiving me because this 300 frame animation is only 600k and it’s encoded at 90% frame size is 512X384… I could have made a full pal movie If I’d know it was going to be this small.

3ivx is http://www.3ivx.com <-there

It’s based on Mpeg4 standard but haven’t tried it under linux.

very cool, I like the lights on his helmet…

hmm … looks very fancy … I mean really - it has some of that fancy waxed 3dmax look. Highlights are too much … well forget this.

Btw.: a question:
this render has also very raytraced look, but headlamps show it was scanlined, right? How did you achieve this look? I don’t mean to be obtrusive, but is it possible to post a .blend with light/material settings (without a model, don’t wanna peep …). Namely, I was looking for some graphics for a web-based project that needs a bit of metallic look and tracing it in yafray took 2hrs due caustics. Which is too much. I thought to get a good scanline and slap some flaming pear filters in post. They make similar effect in 10 seconds.

LOL Ahh glad to see I haven’t lost my touch with Blender
Reload the link and you will be able to download the blend file.
No raytracing here. (I know it looks very Maxy but that’s the idea)
I’d like to be able to use a raytracer but they are all so damn slow.
So I have to fake them by adding a little more details to the lights.

You’ll see from the Blender file that no Texturemaps or external Plugins where used (apart from the glow effect in the post process)

It’s 100% Blender modeled and rendered though.
