i´ve been testing sharp construct on a few of my blender models and i must say i´m impressed even if it does crash every once in a while

Hot damn that looks realistic. Impressive. Exactly how long did it take to render?
I would like to know what kind of poly counts you are at for the nice bumps on the skin there?
Nice work.
BgDM
Icarus, hey thanks they didnt take very long to render 5-10 minutes each
BgDm, the old mans head is 148139 vertices, 147968 polygons
Nice work there Dannybear. I especially like the first image. Makes me want to use Sharpconstruct more.
If you want to reduce your polycount, you could use OpenRenderBump to turn the highpoly model into a normal map for your lowpoly model.
Howitzer, thanks buddy i´m downloading openrenderbump so i can give it a try
Very impressive!
I didn’t really like the nose of the demon, but it was still good overall.
Aligorith
Very good!
Could you explain your workflow to export the model in Blender? And could we see a wireframe?
I would very much like a tutorial on how to generate a suitable LOD mesh for normal mapping with Sharpconstruct and Blender - currently I’m having loads of problems.
Has anyone been successful in finding a good workflow?
Koba
Those are the most realistic heads I’ve seen rendered with Blender, this is coming really close to the ZBrush showcase heads.
IMHO the old man could use a little more wrinkles on his forehead and the corner of his eye. Some discoloration from bloodvessels and liverspots would also be a nice touch.
On the topic of creating DOT3-maps, these are the working solutions for me.
For windows you can use XNormal (the gui speaks for itself) or you can use this script
http://www.ogre3d.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8595&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
For linux you will have to use the above script in combination with the ATI normalmapper through WINE or you can try the recently updated denormgen-tool http://sourceforge.net/projects/denormgen (currently only supports 24-bit tga’s)
here´s the wire it had to be a closeup or it would just be a black blob. env, my workflow is very simple i model a low poly head in blender and export it as a obj file then i open it in sharp construct subdivide it and start detailing it then when im done i save it as a obj file again and import it back into blender
Is that with or without subsurf on? If without, that is amazingly detailed.
