Text Curve?

Hello, im attempting to curve some text around a small globe.
Can any one tell me or send me some links to some
indepth text manipulation.

Convert the font to a curve, then to a mesh (done in object mode by pressing Alt+C twice) Then, in edit mode, select al verts and press Shift+W. The text will wrap around the 3D cursor, so be sure that the text is pulled away from the cursor along the Y axis. Note: you will have to rotate your text 180 degrees in top view if you don’t want it to read backwards.
