Texture angle 'Rake' glitched?

Using Blender 2.73 (64) on Win-7.

I’m trying to paint some fur using a mask texture and texture angle set to ‘rake’.

But ‘rake’ mode seems to have a problem drawing before the stroke direction has been fully established.

That is the first texture ‘dot’ (or dots) are usually painted at the wrong angle. In fact they often
seem to be drawn at pretty much the opposite angle to the stroke.

Turning on smooth stroke doesn’t seem to help. It just delays the appearance of the incorrect
dots.

Anyone else seen this issue. Possible workarounds? If confirmed, I’ll file up a bug report.
