Texture Baking with UV Mapping

Hi all,

I’m trying to export a game model for a game project. Can anyone here let me know if the new Texture Baking feature works with UV mapped images? That is, can you UV map a game model, skin it, then bake the rendering onto the mapped texture?

I’m just getting a black screen at the moment. I downloaded the monkey that was included as a test and it uses a proceedural texture.

You have to UV unwrap the monkey, then add an image, in the UV window, and with your UV coords selected, call up that image. Then, with your object selected, in object mode, go to render ( from the top header ) >> bake render meshes. Then save the result as an image file, from the UV window. btw, this question should be in basics and interface, or texturing and lighting subforum.
