Texture emit only on unlit side of object.

Is it possible to have an image texture only affect the emit values for the unlit side of an object? I would stoop to using a blend to have it only work on half the object, but that wouldn’t be ideal.


You could try to use multiple materials on one object. So you could set the emit texture to one side of the object and the other side will not be affected.

I’ll try it out. But if the object was rotating and the light source was the same, it would be off…

That might sound kind of useless, but I will probably want to do it.

You can do it pretty easily with nodes, just blending two materials based on the brightness of one of them:

EDIT: Nevermind, I got it working…
I tried to use it on a texture that I already had… but some setting was messing it up. Working now.
