Texture for sculpting brushes

Hey, everyone, I am doing a little sculpting for the first time in Blender 2.57 and I am having trouble loading a plain white texture for the brush. While in sculpt mode, I go to the tool shelf and click on the box underneath where it says “texture”. Blender then brings up the textures. However, the one that I made which is just plain white looks transparent in this window. Can anyone help me figure out how to fix this?

Thanks so much! I really appreciate the help!

White is blank texture; no texture at all. You are not confusing texture with paint are you?

Hmmm ok. Perhaps, I should have been more specific. I am following “Creating a Werewolf Part 1” tutorial on the blender cookie website (http://www.blendercookie.com/2010/10/29/creating-a-werewolf-part-1/) and at about 26 minutes and 40 seconds into the tutorial he mentions a “clay strips” brush. He says “its nothing more than a solid white texture” with the curve set to maximum. His image clearly looks white in the tool shelf display and mine just looks transparent.
