texture for wood post

i began doing a wood post
and i got theses textures on inf a frist attempt
so tell me if this is looking like a real wood post or if it is too artificial!

it would be nice to put some knots on it
anybody has an idea if this can be done with procedurales textures if posible?

i put another one with the nor value a bit higher and it changes totaly the lokk see pic 3

It looks good, but I would use colorband on it.

what it would add to the texture!

depending upon the wood, you will often see bands of colors like pinkish or gray in addition to the base brown color.
