i have a problem with texture. it is not effected by lights in GE, it looks dull and shadeless. why?
press F to get into UV mode (select model first)
press A untill all faces are selected… and then w, and select Set light

large meshes get expensive… only light the faces you need lit …
the more light faces you have the slower the game will run. (especialy on my pice of #*$& computer)
one other tip…
If you want to make a complex shader out of the texture, you can use a blender material, with the texture assigned to it… it by default will be shaded, and later you can add bumpmaps and glossmaps and normal maps, and dirt maps, and alternitive diffuse maps, if you wish
