Texture Maker

A month and a half ago I downloaded a handy program called Texture Maker. Has anyone heard of it before I posted this? And if you’ve used it, is it better/worse than the gimp in your opinion?

Well, Texture Maker can do nice animated textures (gimp can’t, unless you’re a masochist and like making every frame ina a gif file

On the other hand, Gimp can:
-edit photos.
-apply various filters to images.
-make images seamless.
-save in a gazillion formats.
-It’s FREE! (Texture Maker is shareware, and it’ll stop working after 30 days…)
-a gazillion things that don’t necessarily have to do with textures.

So, GIMP is better (to me, at least)

Reptile is a cool texture tool. The new version is commercial but this site still has the freeware version:

any chance of a link to this handy prog?

Yeah, it’s at http://www.texturemaker.com. And it does make images seamless and it doesn’t stop working after 30 days.

the gimp can do animations that are not in gif format, but you do kind of have to be a masochist (or be willing to back up a lot).

It prefers to store in sequenced .xcf (gimp native).

look in the gimp … ?
Where did I find that book?
