Texture Maps updisdedown

I created a globe to try to learn Blender and I have textured the globe with a jpeg map. The problem is that when I render the image the texture is upside down. If I use the offsetX and Y buttons or any other buttons on the material and texture menus the results are disasterous. The texture only seems to cover the “front” face of the object even though I used the sphere button.

Your help is appreciated.

I don’t know if this is the easiest way of rotating the texture, but it should work:
rotate the object 180 degrees, go to edit mode, select all vertices, rotate them back 180 degrees.
make sure you press “center new” (I think that’s what it’s called) first if you want it to rotate around the same point in both rotations.
