Texture not showing

i made a texture and applied it in the UV/image editor
when i go to texture display mode, everything is black
everything


Have you sufficient lights in your scene to illuminate your object

If you are using Cycles you have to properly specify your texture and UV map node in node editor. Check your UV set. Check if your texture is properly loaded in Blender. Also check your ambient or scene light. Try to use some emission light object for test purposes.

I’ve got the same problem.
Doing Texture Tutorial from Blender Cookie.
I load final.blend and it shows okay in render preview, but
in my .blend I cannot see a settings difference and I get this:

There are at least three problems with your question.

  1. What tutorial ?
  2. Your screenshot resolution is too low to actually read anything meaningful. Can you read the settings in your interface, I can’t
  3. You didn’t attach your blend file.

Okay, figured it out. Was using a ‘Color Mix’ node and should have been using a ‘Mix Shader’ node.
