Texture not visible in 3D view

Hi,

I am using Blender 2.55 on an iMac i7 Mac OS X 10.6.5 Snow Leopard.
I have the default cube in my scene, created a simple texture on the default material.
In the materials preview I can see a grey base material with pink marble coming from the texture.
In 3D view I switch to textured mode, but my cube is still just shaded as solid, only slightly different. No texture visible at all!
Even if I switch the display mode (under the panel if I hit N in 3D view) to Multitexture, GLSL and/or Texture face the texture is not displayed in 3D view :frowning:

What am I missing? Thanks for an help!

Are you using a procedural texture like clouds? These don’t show in any textured mode. You can get them to show by baking them to an image texture.

Hi Richard,

thanks for reply, does that mean only image textures are shown in 3D view?

now that’s lame :frowning:

i mean blender can generate these textures to display in open gl of the material editor and could not do it in open gl of the 3d view ???
