Texture packing with blend file

Recently I downloaded a blend file and saw that even though I just downloaded the blend file the texture images were intact with the file.

How is that possible?

Or is there a way to tell blender that the image files should be also packed along with blender?


Press the sand-box looking button (for lack of a better description) to the left of the image path, and that packs it into the file.

File / External Data menu to pack/unpack all textures etc.
Note that cycles may not use packed textures so they will need to be unpacked to work correctly
