Texture Paint Issue

I have an aircraft model that is mirror on the x axis. I’ve already textured in rivets and panel lines, dirt, etc. I created the texture using texture paint in Blender 2.8 on the one half of the model. Now I want to add markings and text that are in some cases different on each side of the aircraft. When I add, it obviously mirrors the text and marking backwards. I’m using separate textures for rivets, panel lines, dirt, base paint and decals. How can I now texture paint on marking and decals so they are not flipped? I tried Flipping U and V in the mirror modifier, but that just server to mess up the UV mapping for the rivets, panel lines, etc.
Is there an easy way to paint on the decals and text markings w/o them getting flipped?
