Texture paint ucupaint weird

Not sure how to describe this. I’m trying to paint lips using a ucupaint layer but it wont do straight lines. it this a problem with my uv unwraping? this is just a sculpt wit ha lot of geometry

Yes, your auto-generated UVs are a disaster. You don’t paint on a sculpt, you retopologize the sculpt and then paint that

An alternative solution was to use vertex painting to make a black and white mask and use this attribute as a factor for the lip and skin colors or materials.

Well… looking at your first image this also looks very pixalized so your image size might be a bit low ?? So i wonder how you want to archieve something like your ref shown in the “solution” ??

right that might be it. i’m not going to achieve the ref style I’m just trying to get something basic for now
