Here’s a free seamless texture maker. It has alot of cool options, and it makes pretty good textures. You start with plasma, perlin noise, or whatever,…then once you have a base tex, you layer in other types of noise and apply a variety of effects, and change parameters as you go. Definately handy. btw, it doesn’t say it works for XP, but I have XP and have not had a problem with it. It seems to work fine. Here’s the link:
Hmm it’s a demo actually…
are you sure youre looking at the right one? it’s at the bottom of the page, clearly labelled ‘freeware’. the only difference between the free version and the full version is that the full version can process external images along with the procedurals. there are several other pieces of related software on the page though, so make sure you are looking at the right one. anyway I have made some very nice textures with it since i got it. they are all tilable with a resolution of 256X256 pixels exported in bmp format. I noticed, once you get the hang of it, you can get just about any sort of texture you want. To get an idea though, you can check out the example files that come with it, most of which are quite good themselves, though I would probably want to modify them to better suit my own purposes.
