Can anyone either explain to me how to make a skin texture or any tutorials on how to make textures. thanks!

sorry never mind my first question… i am very new and i have a face model but now i need to apply the skin to it. I have been looking around and found out that i can take a picture of the actual skin and apply it, what i need to know is how to apply it.
