texture visible in 3d view?

I wonder how I can make an object’s texture visible in 3D view. Draw type “textured” only gives me a white surface but the texture cannot be seen. In this video

you can even see the alpha cut out. How can I do this??

If your mesh looks all white in the 3D window with Draw type set to textured, AFAIK that means there isn’t a texture mapped to it. It’s often a good idea to set the Draw type to textured in the 3D window when UV mapping to make sure the mapping “took”. Using older (pre-2.5x) versions, sometime I’ve had to deselect, then reselect a face to get the texture to actually be applied to the mesh, although it looked fine in the UV mapping display.
