Textured Model Preview Always Black?

Hello all,

Here’s the image that explains my problem:

As you can see, I have the model unwrapped and the image texture I want applied to it. I have the material created with that same image as input, and the uvmap as coordinates, but the model still shows up black. Is there something I’m missing? I’m not interested in rendering this, as the model is to be used in unity later on, I just need to be able to preview the texture applied to edit it.

Does your scene have any lamps to illuminate your object ?
