Textures and Lighting

[solved]Is there a way to cast actual shadows on the ground in game?
[/solved]

Also, i have a UV mapped object, and it doesnt seem to be affected by the lighting. How can i make this better?

Problem #1: The ‘text’'s alpha is messed up. its on a plane, loaded via bitmap font, ask for more info.

Problem #2: There seems to be ‘depth issues’. Either that, spots are brighter, but its the same material, same uv.(for instance, upper right spike) there is also NO shadow on any UV’s in the game!

[solved]Problem #3: I dont plan on uv mapping this level, but do i have to? See the sides? The tops are fine but the sides…edit: nevermind i figured out number 3, just make new material with the same texture, apply to the sides only.[/solved]

Hello
well, select your floor plan, add some lamps, “bake full render” to a texture, and apply that texture to the plan as a “multi-layered” UV texture!
Search for the “lightmap tutorial”, if you don’t know what I’m talking about
Bye

ok i will try this. does this slow down GE alot? i hope not

ok 1 outa 3 knocked out, 2 more problems. Please help!

bump! please help!

lol another sonic game, i don’t use realtime lightning, but vertex color and i possibly will bake the lights and shadows using radiosity

you will have to uv map your levels, it’s the cleanest way

as for the alpha problem, you will probably have to redo the bitmap font

btw: your huge screenshot f***'d up all the layout of the page (at least in my 1024x768 screen) lol

the bitmap isnt the problem it was working before
thanks
