I notice when i close blender and reopen all my added textures have disappeared. I add them to a model . close program and there gone when i reopen blender. I’m sure theres a button that saves them but i cant work out with one it is. Please help.

Use pack as png in the image menue in the uv image editor.
Im sorry im new to this. Im using a png. But i cant find uv image editor. Im using 2.66.
Do you save the file before closing the program and re-opening?
The box that has triangles beside it pointing up and down on the right side click on it. There should be a menue.
